Asia's biggest anime and Japanese Pop Culture Event

returns to Indonesia

AFAID 2013

The first Anime Festival Asia Indonesia in 2012 attracted over 40,000 in the 2 days event, ending in a resounding success. Following this success and the continuing rise in popularity of Japanese Popular Culture locally, AFA is back to Indonesia for the 2nd time in 2013, bringing a slice of Japanese Pop culture direct from Tokyo to Jakarta. Anime Festival Asia Indonesia 2013 (AFA ID 2013) will continue to establish itself as Indonesia's top Anime and Japanese Popular Culture event in the nation, is scheduled for the 6 to 8 of September 2013 in Plenary hall, Balai Sidang Jakarta Convention Center.

Anime and Japanese Popular Culture fans will enjoy an electrifying line-up of anisong (anime songs) stars direct from Japan. They can come face-to-face with Japan's top talent and latest offerings, complete with premium original merchandise, movie screenings, cosplay-related activities, and maid and butler café. The experience will be akin to being in Japan's famous Akihabara district.

AFA ID 2013 will focus on popular content and the latest trends based on the interest and preferences of the Indonesian audience. It is a satellite event of Anime Festival Asia, Southeast Asia's biggest and most anticipated showcase of the latest Japanese popular culture, anime content and stars, happening in November 2013, in Singapore.

SOZO, the owners of the Anime Festival Asia brand have teamed up with Japan based ZEPP Live Entertainment Inc., top local concert promoter Marygops Studios and local pop culture media publisher Megindo Group to jointly present Anime Festival Asia Indonesia 2013.

Gaining immense popularity from her beautiful androgynous cosplays as Jinguji Ren and Tokiya Ichinose from "Uta no prince-sama" and Barnaby Brooks Jr. from "Tiger & Bunny", Reika has constantly been receiving many love-calls from various cosplay events worldwide!











Kaname ( Japan )

Celebrity cosplayer KANAME☆ will welcome his wave of fans and visitors alike with his amazing cosplays. From Cloud of "Final Fantasy VII Advent Children" to Ichigo of "Bleach" and Portgas D.Ace of "One Piece", KANAME☆ continues to wow with his high level of quality and realism in his cosplays. KANAME☆ is currently the cosplay Ambassador for Anime Festival Asia, gracing AFA09, AFAX, AFA11, AFAMY, AFAID and AFA12.













Ying Tze ( Malaysia )

With a background in fashion studies, Ying Tze is a passionate cosplayer from Malaysia works on her costumes from scratch and is one of the fastest rising cosplayers in SEA.









Clive ( Singapore )

Having won the champion title in ARCC'09, Clive is a respected mecha costume maker not only in Asia but the world! He became a judge for ARCC in AFAX and AFA12 and has most recently participated in Funan Anime Matsuri in Singapore, giving a workshop on mecha cosplay!
















Angie ( Malaysia )

New rising cosplay star in SEA, Angie has cosplayed more than 100 anime characters since 2008, with each cosplay more impressive than the last through her portrayals of each character.









Richfield ( Indonesia )

Known for his GARO, The Skullman, Robocop and Ironman cosplays, Richfield made his first international debut on the AFA 2010 stage during ARCC, representing Indonesia and coming in second. Richfield is a well-known cosplayer in Indonesia who has been in the scene since 2007. He will be the local cosplay ambassador for AFA Indonesia 2013.

We are pleased to announce our official programming schedule for Japan Expo, 1st Impact! Get set for an action-packed weekend!

Japan Expo is also excited to be showing some very exciting Anime movies in the JX Theatre. FUNIMATION will be premiering Blood-C: The Last Dark for the first time in the United States! Many more quality titles brought to you by VIZ, Crunchyroll, and B.S. Fuji will also be showing in our JX Theatre! Kick back and enjoy watching Attack on Titan, Gargantia on the Verdurous Planet, Eureka Seven: Good night, sleep tight, young lovers and more, thanks to our industry guests!

With all this on offer, you should know that the schedule doesn't include the content from our exhibitors on the hall floor, so there will be even more for you to explore! We can BARELY contain our excitement for all that Japan Expo, 1st Impact has to offer, so be sure to check out the schedule for yourself. 

Premium ticket holders can get it at 8:30 AM, and preregistered ticket holders can get in at 9:00 AM.

Our hours for normal attendees and closing hours are as follows:
Friday: 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM
Saturday: 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM
Sunday: 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM
Closing hours are the same for everybody.
